Barba Napoli

Barba Napoli

The story of the Barba Napoli family brand began in 1964 in Arzano, a suburb of Naples, when Antonio Barba opened a small atelier dedicated to crafting men's shirts. Today, the label remains true to its heritage, led by the second generation of the family — brothers Raffaele, Mario, and Pasquale. Following the strict canons of the old Neapolitan school, the Barba workshop originally catered exclusively to a select circle of connoisseurs. Over the decades, however, it has evolved into one of the world's most respected ambassadors of Italian elegance. The design of Barba Napoli harmoniously combines Mediterranean spirit with a modern, sophisticated silhouette. The company produces its garments using a high degree of manual labor: their classic shirts feature between four and seven handcrafted steps, including the attachment of armholes, buttonholes, and gussets. In these models, meticulous attention is paid to detail — buttons made from natural Australian mother-of-pearl are sewn on using the traditional "crow's foot" stitch (a zampa di gallina). By maintaining a balance between technical innovation and the authentic fatto a mano method, Barba Napoli creates clothing that offers a unique sense of comfort and softness, characteristic only of true Neapolitan tailoring.
