This family and historical company has survived economic crises, wars, occupation, and even fires, but has kept their good name, their loyalty to high quality and pride in its products. The Piacenza family has been involved with fabrics and expensive yarns for more than 400 years! Lanificio Fratelli Piacenza manufactory was founded in 1733 in Biella, the traditional center of textile production in Piedmont. Today, more than 200 employees work at the factory, however already in 1757 100 people were working there, and 350 people did in the middle of the 19th century.

Today, the textile company is run by representatives of the 13th and 14th generations of the Piacenza family, and the clothing is produced under the Piacenza Cashmere brand. Advanced technologies together with traditional skills produce unique results. In addition to cashmere, the company works with camel and merino wool, vicuna, alpaca, mohair, and silk. This is the result of a search for exceptional materials conducted by many generations of the Piacenza family. Thanks to the Berbers in North Africa, they found the best camel hair, and Nepalese Sherpas showed them the best cashmere. Today, part of the cashmere originates from the Alashan region in Northern China.

Piacenza produces a wide range of knitwear, clothing items, and accessories that are presented in the Sartale store.
